DS is having an op on Monday but he has a cold

Will they still do it?

I think it depends very much on their individual policy, but I understand that unless the child is running a fever its normally ok to go ahead - but this is only from my friend whose son has had several operations and one while he did have a slight cold.

I doubt it. My ds had a very slight runny nose and was otherwise fit and healthy and they advised me to wait until he was 100% healthy. The operation wasn't urgent so they said it would be better to wait. The risks were pushing the infection down into his chest when they put tubes in and causing a chest infection.
