Very swollen nipple - 6 month old girl

My DD has a very swollen nipple and breast - right one only. I remember my brother said they sometimes get "pebble nipples" because of the maternal hormones but it feels like quite a large lump and she looks like she has a breast. I can only get her to the GP next week as it doesn't seem urgent but I would like some reassurance and if anyone has any other explanations.

Hi there, you have probably been to the drs by now but my dd had this when she was 18months. Dr said it was blocked ducts just like we can get when breast feeding and she was given an anti biotic to clear it up. It was very scarey to find a lump there on such a young child.

thanks - I went to the GP and it is sorted now but it is scary.
