Went to GP today and prescribed Salamol with aerochamber plus for DD6mths. DD has had a virus and chesty cough for over 3 weeks, not chest infection but nasty coughing at night and some difficulty breathing and feeding. However doing some research it seems Salamol is used to treat Asthma? Seems a bit extreme for the little one? I'm reluctant to use it. Anyone else found it worked to treat a cough? Hmm

I'm a bit older than 6 months ;) but I have just been given inhalers for a cough and wheezing which my doctor says is a post viral wheeze and it is helping me

Although it is used for asthma it is often used as a short term, safe, treatment for chesty coughs just to open airways

I have used it a couple of times on DD now (and tested it myself) Wink. Not sure it seems to do much for her but I felt a bit odd afterwards Blush. She seems to like it though, especially gumming the air chamber. And I feel a bit better about giving it to her. Also persevering with a wealth of other medications that seem to be taking over our bathroom cabinet. she has been ill for 4 weeks now (def post viral IHeartIona) and i'm getting desperate for even half a good night's sleep...
