Water loving 2 yo having grommets...best earplugs?

2 yo DS having grommets fitted week after next. This is a child who dives under the bath water and we need to find some earplugs/effective way to stop water getting in ears asap so we can get him used to them before next week. Thanks.

Tbh when I had my grommets my dm would put cotton wool in and cover it with vasiline to make a waterproof seal. It worked fine. Also a swimming cap??

We used an Ear Bandit (neoprene head strap over the ears) and putty buddies in the ears for DD when she had grommets. She swam once a week and also we used the putty buddies in the bath too. Oh, and we were told however NOT to use them for 2 weeks after the grommets were first put in - so had to keep the head dry. I guess that was to allow them to settle in place properly first.
