Argh. Calling parents or reflux / tube fed babies and / or doctors. Cold nightmare!

My dd is tube fed through a gastrostomy overnight and gravity feeds during the day because of her severe (now not so silent) reflux.

She has a miserable cold - phlegm, sneezing, coughing.

Basically she is vomiting after almost every feed now and at least once a night (when I disconnect her feed and bring her into my bed).

The dummy makes her gag and vomit so I can confiscated that (now screaming). So:

Do colds normally make babies vomit?
Should I continue with her milk (neocate) overnight?
How can I help reduce all the phlegm? Piriton? Am using Calpol already.

She's been like this since Friday night and am all at sixes and sevens as the feeing tube is new...

I think I'd probably call GP for advice.

Fwiw dd is / was refluxy and even now at 2.5 she vomits more when she has a cold - horrible gloppy vomit Sad

Ps have you tried steam?

OpheliasWeepingWillow · 10/03/2013 19:44

I called GP and they said it was normal so no idea why I am asking here really, suppose I just want to hear other people's experiences.

Have bought a Calpol plug in thing which is supposed to ease breathing but it smells like a cross between Vicks and a Tart's Boudoir (bleeee).

Haven't thought of steam! Will try tomorrow with Olbas oil.
