Toddler has a lump. Tell me about your lo's lumps

Dc has a lump about an inch diameter on his neck where a lymph node is. I noticed it Monday.

It has no pin mark to indicate a bite or abscess.
It's not sore to touch.
Dc hasn't been ill at all, not even a snuffle recently.

I initially rang the dr as I thought it was an allergic reaction. It wasn't but dr said to bring dc into see her on Thurs am.

Dr looked at it and ruled out mumps. Checked dc all over and felt all glands. She said she didn't think it was a lymph node. Sent me to a and e for a blood test for a white blood cell count.

Got there and paediatrician checked dc all over and prescribed anti b's for a week, got an app to go back next Friday. No blood was taken. Paed thinks its an abscess.

I don't know if in being irrational but I have a niggle about it. Please tell me you've experienced similar with your dc. (Dr google has made me a quivering wreck)

Bloods should have been taken!!!!! And BEFORE ABs started (so that if there was no improvement from the ABs you would have at least had a baseline value for the blood count).

Let your GP know that the bloods have not been done. Today.

I've rang the dr's, the dr I saw yesterday isn't in so I'm waiting for another dr to call me back.
