Elmofan. My mum has a form of vasculitis. I don't know much about the whole group of diseases - only about her particular condition. I imagine it varies a lot from type to type. Her form is manageable and in fact she's been well for the past few years. It must be very worrying to be thinking about this for DS but I just wanted to reply to say that she's a lot better since diagnosis than before because she knows her signs and goes off to get treatment early. Hoping you get the news you want soon.

I have been to see dr google myself on occasion! Really hope DS gets the all clear. DM was diagnosed in her 40s and though it's been a struggle she has been ok and learnt to manage it. She's in her 70s now so three decades on. But what you can cope with at 40 is not the same as what you should have to cope with as a young person. I do know though that treatment now is vastly better than it was back then. Hope for good news for you and DS.

Just home now but Still none the wiser . spent 5 hours in A&E , saw three different Doctors (one of them was a consultant) had xrays & blood tests & still don't know what's wrong with ds they don't think it's Vasculitis , They think it might be Rheumatoid Arthritis But because this is very rare in children they don't have any specialists in the children s hospital to look at ds . They Sent us home until they can request a specialist to see ds as an outpatient but this will take a good few weeks to arrange in the mean time they can not treat ds until he is diagnosed properly unless the condition worsens then i have to take him back to A&E straight away.
