My 6 year old has a red permanent mark on forehead for past few months... Any ideas??

I have noticed a red spot on ds' forehead which has been there for a few months now with no sign of going. It's not itchy or scabbed, not causing any discomfort. Just concerned it is not fading and really clueless as to what caused it or what it might be?? Anyone else experienced this??

Is it like a dot of red pen might look? Fairly bright red but very small?
