Baby sounds like Darth Vadar - is it in her chest?

DD is ten months old. She had pneumonia when she was born and was quite ill but has been generally healthy since. She does seem to be prone to getting congestion though and can sound like Darth Vadar. I had her at the GPs last month and was told the congestion wasn't in her lungs. She got better but sounds worse again today. How can you tell if it is in her lungs or just her upper airways? I don't want to bother the GP but don't want to ignore it if it is in her lungs.

Not a doctor here, but I put my ear to their chest, in various places. You can usually pin point whereabouts it's coming from. Wheezing isn't always bad, but squeaking (I was told) is worse.

But a GP should never ever mind being asked about a wheezing 10 month old.
