Had an orthopaedics appointment this morning to have DD2's hips checked. I had expected to be told that she had hypermobile joints, like DD1, but instead was told that her right hip was not ok (hip dysplasia) and the harness was fitted. The possibility of this had not been mentioned before so it came as a complete shock.
I have done a search for other threads on this but most people seem to have had their DCs in the harness over summer. I am worried about keeping DD warm enough. Any tips?
I will raid DD1's clothes for things to fit over her legs. She is 4, so we have plenty of larger clothes.
Also has anyone attempted a flight with DC in a harness? I am taking both DDs to Australia in March, without DH.
DD2 also reflux and dairy intolerance. She has Nutramigen formula which causes spectacular explosive nappies. I am not looking forward to changing them with the harness on. DD often slept better on her side. Obviously this cannot happen now.
Finally, to add to my woes, I had my gall bladder removed last week. I am recovering well, but it does limit how much I can carry DD. I can't use a baby carrier yet. We had kept DD in her Moses basket by my side of the bed to make nights easier for me. She will have to move into her cot tonight, meaning another sudden change for her.
Sorry this is turning into a long whinge from me. It just seems to be one problem after another. I know others have far worse problems to deal with.
