Any experience of reflux in a toddler?

DS has had reflux since birth. No meds worked until we got referred to a specialist at 11 months.

He started taking Inexium, which took more than 2 weeks to work but did have an impact. After a month we added Gaviscon in the evening and that had a really good impact on his sleep (which is generally awful).

At 13 months he'd stopped being sick at all but around Christmas (aged 15 months) he started being sick again, just a couple of times a week, for no apparant reason and you can sometimes here the liquid coming up his throat, although he swallows it down again. He also gets bad hiccups at the same time.

We saw the specialist again yesterday who is very concerned, has doubled his dose of inexium, stopped the gaviscon and has said if it doesn't improve in two weeks we need to do a fibrescope inspection Sad

I'm worried because it was improving but has gone backwards. But also I'm worried that I shouldn't have told the Dr about the handful of times he's been sick as he took it as a very bad sign (whereas it's only been 4 or 5 times which is a huge improvement on before).

Did the reflux in your toddler go away naturally?

Watching.

Dd is 29months and has silent reflux due to low muscle tone. We've been promised and promised a decent evaluation but have to buy gaviscon for now. Over Christmas when she had more sweet stuff than usual I could hear her refluxing occasionally.
