If it was flu would temp come down to 38 after one day?

DC1 had the flu last week (or so doctor thinks - was unwell with fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, earache, tummy ache). DC2 had runny nose yesterday, temp going up to 40, shivering, sore legs. However during the night she had no temp so didn't need to give her meds, and this morning her temp has been around 38 (38.2 max), under 38 now (without any medication). No pain in legs just a bit of a sore throat and a snotty nose, she seems happy. Could it be the flu? Reason I am asking is it affects our Christmas travel plans whether it's flu or not

thanks

I have had terrible flu, been in bed for 5 days and my temperature has been going up and down all over the place from day 1.. Day 3 seemed to be the worse. If she's happy and up and about I'd say more likely just some other virus... X

poor you, hope you're over the worst
had it not been for DC1 having flu it would never have crossed my mind that DC2 had it. This is day 2 so I guess I'll just see how she is today, tonight, & in the morning. I think it peaks on day 2/3 doesn't it...

fingers crossed it's not.
