verucca! Most painless hassle free treatment please

5yo has a verucca. Any recommendations..scared off by ointments threatening burning and stinging!

Mine's got one too. If you do a search on verucca, all sorts of weird and wonderful methods come up.

We've tried the home freezing kit. I wouldn't recommend it. We couldn't keep the pad on her foot for the recommended time because she found it agony.

So trials this week are to include:

Drawing round the verruca with a biro (mad but I'm told it's worked).
Applying lemon juice twice a day for two weeks.
Rubbing banana skin on it twice a day, or leaving a small piece under a plaster if it will stay stuck to her foot.
Paint the verucca with clear nail varnish.

Failing that I will then purchase this:

And failing that I will try to find a chiropodist who offers laser treatment - I've heard that's very effective but I've yet to find one who offers it.

We have tried sticking duct tape on it (another recommendation), but it just fell off.

We had 6 months of screaming with the gel and filing the thing in which time he developed another two. I'm shocked we didn't get reported with nightly "pkease don't hurt me" screams .

In desperation I bought the gome freezing kit and he didn't even flinch. Ds said it was much less painful than filing it. They all went within 4 weeks.

We've just finished our banana skin treatment on DD's feet and managed to get rid of one massive verruca that's been there since June and spread beyond belief and another small one on the other foot.
In recent months we've tried absolutely everything but this is the only thing that seemed to have worked. Started off by filing down the top of her verrucas and rubbing the inside of a green banana on them first, then leaving the banana skin on overnight (secure it with some duct tape). In a short while the verrucas turn black and die and you can literally pick them out with tweezers. Continue covering them with fresh banana skin every night for a couple of weeks to make absolutely sure that they're gone for good.
The soles of DD's feet have never been smoother!

I practice ignoring them, much less painful.

We used the freezing kit - worked a treat on both DDs, although one needed two treatments. It does sting/burn a little during application, but not for long.

Duct Tape? Banana skins?? Really? Surprised you haven't tried magic incantations or leeches.

Thank you for the replies. Looks like I'll have a go at the home freezing kit or search for a chiropodist for laser treatment. (Not heard of that one). Failing that... ermmmm... banana sounds like the most fun!

Stop press!!! Just checked out prices of laser treatment! Ouch! However, have also read that topical applicatin of teatree oil and lemon (seems veruccas hate fruit, what with the bananas as well!) can help..AND..if left alone will spontaneously clear up withing 2- 18 months. So might just leave it and see...

Cointreau - Just exactly why be so critical or sceptical towards other people's way of treatment??!! Especially when it was successful??
I have three LOs to take care of therefore not a lot of time on my hands, so really not in the habit of coming on MM to make false statements then go away and hope that some fool will have fallen for my phony advice...

We went for the freezing thing at the doctors. Didn't really hurt and did get rid of the verruca that we had been ignoring, for three years
