could this be measles?

no temperature. rash only around belly button. red, slightly raised. no loss of appetite. mood/form is great. no other symptoms. marks fade but it took more pressure than i thought it would take to make the marks disappear. they faded under less pressure but didn't disappear completely until more pressure applied. should i book in with gp in the morning?

If DS feels well, could it be a small infection? Dd always gets them - hers is an outy so always banging into things.

i just thought measles because it didn't disappear as easily as i thought it should. i have no experience of measles.

i'm wondering if maybe reaction to fabric softener. i've just started using it again after years of not, but he has alread y worn stuff thats been washed in it.

it could be although he hasnt eaten anything today that he hasn't had before, cereal and milk, yoghurt drink, orange juice, sausage sandwich for lunch with milk to drink. fruit and water in between. rash turned up before dinner

Does he wear a belt on his jeans and the buckle is rubbing on his skin? I get a nickel allergy rash from belts quite often.

no belt and the jeans sit too low on him (he's a skinny hips)

Measles typically starts behind ears, and after a period of being generally unwell with cold/flu like symptoms.

The non-fading rash is usually associated with meningitis, and is one of the later symptoms. If they're not already very unwell with the rash it's unlikely to be that.

It could be a viral rash. Ds has them lots. But they don't fade at all, even with heavy pressure.

Most likely to be that something he's beeing doing has rubbed in that area. I remember dm panicking over a huge rash I had on holiday once. Then she remembered I'd been bodyboarding with a bikini on. Rash was tummy against polystyrene with some sand scrunged between them.

Have you changed washing powder, are they new clothes?

What about carseat or pushchair strap rubbing on it

same washing powder and no new clothes, no car seat straps. he had been in the bath after his breakfast but i didn't use anything new in it. same bubble bath and nothing else. didn't even wash his hair so no shampoo or anything. it's still there but he's still in great form and it's not itching him.
