Newborn little blisters in skin folds. Help please!

My five day old DS2 has developed little pus filled blisters in the fat folds of his neck and thigh creases, they look a bit sore but he isn't acting like they bother him (sleeping and eating well, little periods of calm alertness). The midwife said to just keep and eye on them and our GP said no need to bring him down but I'm a little worried its a yeast infection or something. Anyone experienced this? Thanks..

Are they pus filled or are they 'milk spots', also called milia? If they're pus filled you do need to see a GP and get some anti-fungal cream for them. If they're just milia then they're very common and will go soon. Most newborns get a bit of a rash in the fisrt few weeks which will clear up soon.

They're bigger than milia but don't look infected. GP not being terribly helpful sink think I'll take him back into the hospital and ask a paediatrician to check him. Is there such a thing as PSB (perfect second born?). Thought I'd be a bit more laid back this time!

You could pop along to your local baby clinic and see an HV, might be easier than going to the hospital.

On day 5 you should both still be under the care of the midwife though. Could you call her and ask her to pop over and see you both? You should be seeing her around day 10 anyway but for peace of mind a quick call couldn't hurt.
