Homeopathic remedy for reflux? Anyone with experience? (Or experience of drugs?!)

My little one I'm sure is suffering from reflux! She is twelve weeks old and is breast fed.

Her main symptoms are:
Spit up after every feed - sometimes it's just milk, but more often it's vomit
Vomiting even an hour or two after feeding and after being kept upright - very often smells strongly of vomit and with chunks of curdled milk. She is in obvious pain, and often wants more milk (I think to soothe the burning she must have in her throat)
Hiccups after feeding and at other times too
Over feeding for comfort
Excessive weight gain due to over feeding (at last weigh in she was on 91st percentile)
Fussiness when laid down soon after a feed
Prolonged winding
Pulling off breast and feeding vigorously - sometimes arching her back too in obvious discomfort (often feeding between crying / moaning)
Coughing and gagging and trying to fit her fist into her mouth to stop the acid burn
Drooling heavily (often just before or after she's sick)

We tried gaviscon - but she hated the taste of it (and as we are breast feeding wasn't that easy to give her) and she screamed so much and got herself into such a state it didn't help!

I've been told there is Rantidine, Prevacid, and Zantac... Anyone with experience of those?

Ideally I'd like to try a more natural remedy... Some websites (mainly US ones) suggest belladonna (is this deadly nightshade??), liquid calcium, and something called Natrum phosphorica (sodium phosphate) biochemic salt... Has anyone got any knowledge or had any experience with these homeopathic remedies? Or any others?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Doctors aren't being particularly helpful and aren't really interested as shes putting on weight! I'm sure she's not right and don't really want to just wait until she grows out of it! Others that have seen her be sick have commented that they think it's not right! :-(

Thanks :-)

I don't have experience with reflux but I know that homeopathic remedies don't work. They contain no active ingredient. They're just water or sugar pills so they can't possibly work... and every trial done on them has shown them to be ineffective.

However, herbal remedies do contain active ingredients so make sure you don't confuse the two.

Mine had severe acid reflux (and was always a big baby). Was fobbed of and only diagnosed when we took her to the hospital about something else. Ask to try Omeprazole, it was the only medicine that worked for us.

Also try Cranial Osteopthy, this helped my DD.

Good luck, I know how hard it is.

I would also recommend trying cranial osteopathy.

Hi all,
I took her to see a chiropractor (which helped her wind!) and I did try a session of cranial osteopathy... I just wasn't sure. I'll try going back for some more sessions then and give it a proper chance! :-).
Thanks for the tip about herbal vs homeopathic - I didn't know that.

Anyone else with natural type remedy suggestions?

Thanks! :-)
