Verruca - should ds have Cryotherapy or laser treatment?

My ds has a verruca under his heel and it is very painful for him to walk. I have tried Bazuka but he is making a big fuss every time i do it as it is so painful for me to try to peel the white layer off or to file it with am emery board.

He is now limping so I need to sort it out at a chiropodist. I know freezing treatment (cryotherapy) is very painful and I have heard of period having blisters from it. Is this true? And has anyone tried laser treatment for verrucas, as this is meant to be less painful?

My dd had laser treatment on her verruca, administered by a chiropodist. It was a single treatment, non-painful and it definitely worked for us. Grin

That sounds great. Did she have just one session?

Hi Frankie, yes it was just one treatment - our first and only trip to the chiropodist and it cost £25 but was well worth it.

Hello I just wondered if you can get this treatment through the NHS ? My DC has had one on the bottom of her foot for 4 years Blush we have tried everything from Bazooka gels to freeze sprays and none have worked. It does not bother DC it now looks like white dry skin with tiny black pinhead dots which must be the roots.Just wondered if it was worth trying laser treatment or just to leave now as it must be near to going!!

I would probably leave it if it is not bothering your dc. My dc is in pain and limping, he can't put his heel down on the floor, which is why I've got no choice but to deal with it!

I know it sounds crazy, but on both my DSs, tape got rid of them in less than 7 days. I covered the verruca with tape (in my case, I had strong bandage tape). If it did came off after a bath, I put a new one.
It works.
DS1 had 3, one was huge and he couldn't walk. First I tried to follow the GP's instructions, with the acid drops, the patches,.... it was a nightmare, and they were getting bigger. Then I decided to try this "tape legend". Didn't hurt, easy, no tears, just magic.
