Dry/yellowish skin on little finger

The top of ds(6 ) little finger has turned really dry and callous like. It's not the hand he writes with nor does he suck those fingers or anything. It's been like this for a few weeks. Do you think it is some sort of infection or wart ? It doesn't hurt or bother him in anyway

It could be a fungal infection. They often appear to be off-colour dry skin and finger tips are a common place. Best go to the doctors incase it spreads.
