If your dc has had grommets how long did it take for them to make a difference?

DD aged 9 finally had her grommet op yesterday. All went well and she is fine. The surgeon said alot of fluid came out and that the inner ear was now ungunked. I had been told that the effects on dd's hearing would be immediate but tbh there is no change. Both dd and I are disappointed.
Can it take a while for the hearing to improve or does this mean that the op hasn't solved her hearing problems and that the cause wasn't simply glue ear?

Honestly? DSD had her grommit OP when she was 7, it made a slight difference for a while, but now at aged 20 she's still as bad as she was before the OP. Sad

Thanks for telling me. Did your dsd get any other help?
