DS has recently had grommets fitted and I wondered if anyone knew of good ear plugs he could wear in the bath/swimming etc.

I would think something like 'Ear Bands' would be better than ear plugs at this age. They're neoprene bands that go round both ears and protect them from water.

When my son had grommets fitted, we used
this
And
this together. Worked really well.

That's what we have nellie- working well so far- great side-effect is that both my children are now quite happy to wash their hair!

We used the same as Nellie above for DD when she had grommets and had no problems at all. We got ours via this website www.swimstop.co.uk/putty_buddies2.html

Hi, we use the zen ear plugs. You can make them yourself, therefore re-moulding as they grow is ease.
