When do you take child to doc for cough and cold?

Dd, 21 months, has nasty cough and cold. V snotty and chesty. Snotty nose developed this weekend. But cough has been there over a week and is getting worse. At what stage do I take her to doc to get chest infection ruled out?

I would take her (or at least call) when your instincts tell you to. If you suspect there is something underlying there probably is. I have been told by both my Dr and health visitors that the GP's would rather see a healthy (or just a cough & cold) baby 10 times than miss something that could be worse.
