He is 11. Didn't do any sport over summer. Last week first full week back at school and did rugby on Tuesday and football on Wednesday. After football he complained he was aching all over. Had hot bath etc. But it hasn't eased at all. He is struggling to run and is hobbling around. Says heels sore and legs generally all over.

MIL was here and pointed out that he walks with his feet turned out which I had noticed and commented on but didn't think it was a big deal. MIL says he might need inserts in his shoes to correct his walk.

Anyone any experience of any of this? Presumably I should take him to GP?

my ds has flat feet and his feet lean in over. as well as this his muscles in his calves are shorter than they should be (not sure of the technical term). get your ds to stand bare foot on the floor, does he have arches in his feet? does his muscles feel very tight and "solid" in his calves?

my ds has inserts in his shoes and was given special exercises to help lengthen his calf muscles which included him facing the wall with touching and then bending his knee to touch the wall, and standing on the stairs with his heels hanging over the edge and leaning back on his heels so in effect he is stretching his muscles.

Thanks. Will check his feet. And calf muscles.
