1 yr old DS poos all the time!

I am getting through about 10 nappies a day because DS is pooing small maltester-size poos all the time. As soon as I sit him on the floor he starts straining and then cries! He has a sore red bottom, but he doesn't seem to be constipated as the poos are quite wet, though not wet enough to be diarrhea either. They just seem to be tiny, constant poos!

He doesn't eat a great deal of solid food, has never really been that interested, and has quite a bit of breastmilk during the day, so I would be surprised if he was constipated. Anyone else had this?

Are they solid and round? I know you said they seem wet but that was the sort of poo's mine did when constipated. Lots of straining and only a little poo each time.

I would try upping his fruit intake and seeing how it goes. Is he baby led weaning? You could pop across to that topic area for some ideas.

Teething causes a sore bottom often, so it maybe that the soreness is related to that.

How long has this been going on? I would be tempted to have a chat with my GP, if it was me. They would never consider it a waste of time or inconvenience. It's far better to see them and have a chat just in case. But I'm no expert.

Hopefully someone else will come along soon who can suggest something.
