Surprise diagnosis of constipation - anyone any experience of this?

My dd (nearly 6) has always had runny poo (in fact has never had a solid poo in her life). I thought she would grow out of this and as she was always very healthy and a good weight I wasn't too worried but got concerned recently when she started complaining about stomach pains. I got a referral to a paediatrician last week and was surprised when he said she was constipated and prescribed movicol. Constipation hadn't occured to me as she always goes at least once a day - does anyone else have any experience of this? We were at the GP today on an unrelated matter and she seemed a bit surprised at this diagnosis and asked if the paed had run any other tests which he hadn't. She has only been on the movicol since Friday and there has been no change so far although I guess it takes a while to work.

I have heard of children who when there is a blockage, small amounts of liquid poo go round the blockage giving the appearance of diarrohea. Does not sound very like your case but can mean that constipation is missed.
