Sickness spread out over 48 hours, likely to be bug or food poisoning?

ds has been sick for the last 48 hours, he has been feeling ill the whole time but only sick 4 tines, about once every 12 hours!
I've never seen a bug like this before, usually if the kids get sick they get sick a few times over about 12 hours and then feel rotten for a while longer then are fine.

Any ideas why it's dragging out so much?

DS had something like that once, he was sick every 14 hours for days. It was bloody awful.

It's already a pain. Have missed ds1s sports day, ds missed his school settling in session and seeing the Olympic torch :-(
Will also miss the scout fete tomorrow now.
Very bad timing for him!
I just hope the rest of us don't catch it!
I always feel nauseas whenever one of the kids is sick until they are better as I'm paranoid i will get sick too, a stupid psychological thing!

I hope he feels better soon.

I panic a bit too about everyone catching things, so I assign hand towels, anti-bacterial gel etc.
