My DS has just turned 3.

The last month he's been tired - refusing to walk journeys he's done before. Happy just to lay down on the couch for most of the day and quietly play with his cars or read.

He's been generally unhappy too. Very quick to tears when he's always been a pretty happy boy up until now.

He's lost some of his appetite which is unusual for him. He's always eaten well but been small for his age. I think he's lost weight too as a cou

Two weeks ago he had a fever in the night and some viral type spots which we though was hand foot and mouth. He then had 24 hours of vomiting which I felt was either part of the h,f & m or a bug on top of that.

Do viruses sometimes linger? He was tired a fortnight or so before the h,f,m thing and has been worse since that cleared up.

Phone posted too soon!

Some of his trousers have started falling down.

Will it seem silly to take him to the gp? I have no real list of symptoms. All I can say is he's 'not right in himself' I don't know what the doctor would be able to tell from looking at him.

I've just had him here crying and almost falling back to sleep despite sleeping almost 12 hours last night.

Is it just a phase or a growth spurt on the way maybe?

Please take him to the GP asap. It is much better to get him checked over properly than let this go on. A month is a long time IMO.

Just tell the doctor the history you have written here.

Thanks little frogs.

I feel silly leaving it to go on but I had so little medical symptoms I couldn't see what a doctor would do.

But he's not right. I'll make an appointment on monday and just say what I've said here.

I just think he'll dismiss it as a virus and me being ott.
