Advice & reassurance needed 6yo small for his age, and dropping down centiles

I'm really worried about Ds1 who has been 'average' height since birth, but in the last 2 years h as hardly grown at all. He's gone from the 50th centile on the height charts and as of last night is now on the 9th centile. He is starting to look very small next to his class at school.

I wouldn't be worried if he was on the 9th from birth it is more the lack of growth thats worrying.

I'd really appreciate any help or experiences you have.

He's 6.5 and is otherwise happy and healthy.

take him to the gp. growth that doesn't match centiles is a red flag for a lot of things to do with hormones, thyroid, adrenal glands etc.

My dd1 was found at age 8yo to have dropped in weight (she had pneumonia which will have caused some drop) and hardly any gain in height for over 18 months. Since then (she's 11) she's hardly grown much. She's dropped from over 75% to round about 25%.
The doctor monitorred her for about 18 months, and took bloods etc. but the conclusion was that she had grown early and stopped growing so fast. She's just starting a growth spurt I think, so we'll wait and see.

What centile should he be for yours and your DH heights combined?

50th I think . I'm 5'5" and dh is 5'10"

9th to 91st is acceptable limits if he should be on the 50th centile ie plus or minus 2 lines so if he went below 9th that would be below the limits. However as he has dropped from 50th it is worth mentioning to GP and continuing to monitor in my opinion.
