Crohnes? 12 year old child, blood test showing liver abnormaility

My 12 year old has had quite a lot of trouble with his bowels, I thought IBS, so took him to GP who offerred some cream for piles and asvised he visit www.patientinfo.co.uk, I told the GP I would rather we looked more closely into IBS, so he asked some question regarding what time his bowel movements are (random and often, never solid)

He asked about bloating which he has, asked about bleeding for rear end, which he has, felt his tummy, then we made an appointment for some urine and blood samples.

I called back for results (10 days later) to be advised GP had yet to look at them, so called back next day and was told the same, so advised I would be calling back the next day and expected the GP to have looked at the results.

I called back (thinking all would come back fine) only to be advised, his liver count has came back with an abnomality and he needs re-tested, I was initially offerred an appointment NEXT Friday but said I needed to speak to someone before then, so the GP his calling me tomorrow. I don't really expect to hear any real answers tomorrow as this GP is just new and kinda like a trainee..

So have to wait 3 weeks until further tests are done and 10 days after that for results.

I have now stopped googling as I cannot find anything simple and not to worry about but know that Crohnes could be likely I just wondered if anyone else thought this does sound likely and has any advise in the meantime i.e change of diet ?

Thanks in advance. Smile
