He is very well in himself, he just looks shocking, not changed any washing powder so doubtful it is an allergic reaction. His sister had the same thing about two weeks ago but not as bad, could it be slapped cheek virus? Any ideas?

Slapped cheek has done the rounds of DS school. Apparently other symptoms to look out for are headache, runny nose, temp. They said its nothing to worry about and goes as suddenly as it manifests.

Sounds like it could be that.

ds got this on a Friday, was otherwise fine until Sunday pm when he got a very high temp etc. I always assumed it was slapped cheek.

Loads of slap cheek about at the moment (maybe its something to do with the wet weather?), it does sound like slap cheek, poor thing, hope he feels better soon. xx

My ds had this a few weeks ago. He was perfectly well in himself, but just had very bright cheeks. I suspected slapped cheek but wasn't sure. The red face continued for a few days until one evening he developed very alarming red splodges all over his legs, arms and torso. For me, this was the change that confirmed it really must be slapped cheek. The body rash only lasted a day or two.
