Inner thighs irritated because of rubbing with wet nappy?

Since I gave started potty training my son has got two red areas on the top of his legs (where it rubs with the nappy or the wet pant).
I've tried various cream for eczemA from the Gp (fucidibe, dactacort and ceta-something) + he has been on antibiotics too many times bc Gp said it was infected (apart from once, I don't think it really was).
This problem has been going on for 1,5 years now and I'm truly fed up with it.
I think the real problem, rather than eczema, is that at night the wet nappy (ds1 pees an awful lot!!) rubs on his inner thighs and make it inflamed. Plus when he is asleep he scratches
it.
This morning I have put sudocream on it by desperation. I will do that at night to see if it works as a barrier against pee.

I'm thinking about going to see a private dermatologist too.

What do you think? Has anyone got confronted with the same or similar problem?

Can't advise you what to use, but I would say that if your GP has been "treating it" for 1.5 years and it hasn't got better, you should be able to ask him/her to refer you to see an NHS dermatologist. My little boy has eczema on his neck and the one thing that helps the most is keeping his nails trimmed very short, I do them about 2/3 times a week if poss, because he does scratch in his sleep. I hope you get it sorted.
