DS tail end of chicken pox - hardness in right of neck

Ds1 (6y 11m) is on day 8 of chicken pox. He has been complaining of a sore throat and struggled to eat. But then picked up a bit. Today he said it feels like something is in his throat and pointed to the right side of his throat. He has a large swollen gland a little further round, which is always prominent and swells out when he is ill but now I can feel a hardness just to he right of his larynx which is not matched by the left side, and aligns to here he says it hurts.

So what the gubbins could it be, and...

What do I do about seeing a dr? I don't think he's contagious anymore as he is all stabbed up? I was thinking of speaking to receptionist and getting her to decide if I bring him in or someone comes out? Or should I just wait til heis pot free?

If hes all scabbed over and has no new spots then she's fine but ask to see a doc and advise the GP receptionist - they should have a room for situations like this.

sorry i mean hes fine as in non contagious but you should definitely get him seen imo.

Thanks. Hopefully it will mean they see us straight away rather than the usual 30 minute wait. I guess most likely it's lymph nodes because of the virus and I didn't want to waste their time but I think I've left it long enough to see if he can get over it on his own and he has repeatedly told me and others today that it feels like something is there.
