ANYTHING I can do? :( I keeps making her retch and has been sick (just foamy spit, not proper sick) twice.

Is nothing helping it? What type of cough is it?

I would phone ooh for advice

DitaVonCheese · 01/05/2012 17:43

Tickly I think. I was brought up by a cynical doctor to believe you can't really do much for a cough but thought MN might know better. Have been giving her honey & lemon.

She needs seen. An inhaler could help and/or steroids.

I agree, she needs to be seen. Have you tried a warm, steamy room?

LargeLatte · 01/05/2012 20:28

That often for that long needs to be seen by a dr. The cough my be a sign he is finding it hard to breath. Could be croup or asthma aggravated by a virus.

DS2 got very poorly with bronchiolitis when he was a baby, as at the time there were loads of news reports about people wasting doctors' time with children with colds and coughs. In the end I am so glad that I took him to A&E as he would probably have died otherwise - he needed steroids, nebulisers etc. If your daughter has been coughing that much I think you should take medical advice.

Yikes, really? My upbringing has given me a lackadaisical approach to seeking medical help.

She sat on the sofa miserably watching CBeebies for a few hours bit and then perked right up when DH got home and is now in bed and asleep and has coughed a couple of times but otherwise seems better. Will see how she is tomorrow ... Thanks for the replies.
