How to treat Hand, Foot & Mouth Blisters

17 month old DD has caught H,F & M from playgroup and has blisters round her mouth which appeared a few days back, and now starting on her feet and hands. Those on the feet appear to be sore or itchy (or something similar) as she keeps taking my hand and asking me to rub them. I know there is no cure for HFM as its a virus, but I wondered if a cream can be applied that releives the pain/itch of the blisters? Has anyone used Bach Herbal Rescue Remedy cream on them before? I was also told homeopathic remedy Rhus Tox was good for chicken pox blisters - would this be any good?
Thanks, WW x

I think anything that stops the itching would be fine as you don't want them popping and getting infected! I hope she gets better soon.

Virasoothe gel has been good for DD's chicken pox, and I would think it would be good for HFM as well.

I caught HFM from DD when she got it, so if you've got a crappy immune system (like me :() keep an eye out on yourself as well.

Hope she feels better soon.

We have just got back from hospital tonight with poorly ds. He is on his THIRD bout of HFM in 6 months. Difflam spray helps we find.

I know someone said it's a virus - but I'm sure when my ds had it we were given some medicine for it. Think it was antibiotics, realise that makes no sense if it was a virus, but can't remember due to whole lack of sleep at the time. Anyway, worth checking with a friendly doctor. Get well soon
