Dry/chesty cough and very runny nose

DD is 15 months and has had a cold coming on for a good few days. At the moment she's got a horrible dry cough but it also sounds quite chesty. (Phelgm is coming up but she's swallowing it).
Can't get a doctor's appointment until Monday.

Just wondering if anyone has any hints or tips to soothe the cough? We have some tixylix but it's not really doing much. I have an oil burner which I've been putting a few drops of clary sage into and 'fumigating' the bedroom with about half an hour before she goes to bed, and I have raised the head end of the cot.

Unfortunately last night she was coughing on and off from 4am. She seems to have slept through it more or less, but it's making her tired as it's obviously interrupting her sleep.
No temperature or other problems.

steam might help. also try calpol it might just make her more settled.

dd, 19m, has just got over this, hers turned into a chest infection so keep an eye out for fever , being sick when coughing and lck of energy etc.

Thanks! Actually got a doctors appointment for this morning so about to run her up there. Unfortunately calpol makes her sick but nurofen works so we have been using that when needed.

Sorry to hear your DD was so poorly - hope all is well now.
