DS 2.6 vomiting since Wednesday night...still not keeping food down. Thoughts please?

DS has been vomiting regularly after every meal and also in the night since wednesday 5.30pm. He had some diarrhea on Friday but only a couple of episodes. He also has a periodic high temp of between 38.8 and 39.4 degrees but this responds to Calpol.
I am thankfully still breastfeeding him so he has reverted to regular bf's throughout the day/night (am 9wks pg so this is not ideal!) and b-milk is the only thing he seems to keep down.
I took him to see Dr on Thurs after speaking to Doc on phone and him asking to see him as he had been vomiting for 24 hrs. He checked DS out and said just a bug...but he is still being sick more than 72 hours after it started.
Out-of-hours Dr? NHS Direct? Am I being hysterical?
He seemed much better this afternoon after a long sleep but has been sick 3 times between 6.30 and 7.30...sleeping now.
Thoughts please more experienced mums!?!

I'd give the OOH GP a call and take it from there. Hope he is feeling better soon.

I didn't tend to worry about food as long as they were keeping some fluids down.

If he is hungry offer him small amounts of bland, dry food like toast and crackers to start with and see how he goes.

Dd 2.11 has been ill since Thursday. She vomited all day Thursday was quiet and sleepy yesterday. Today she keeps perking up and asking for food but then leaving it ;(.
She has also had the runs a couple of times. Temp too also responding to calpol.
GP said there is a vile sickness virus going round which really lays you low for a while.

comewhinewithme yes that sounds similar. He has eaten various little nibbles of food today but then thrown it up each time. He was complaining of being hungry lots today and asking for food, only to push it away or eat a smidgeon then puke it up.
beautifulgirls that's my instinct but I really don't know what they can suggest...we live in the middle of nowhere so miles to OOH service and as he is sleeping now I won't wake him. I suppose they will reassure me though.
landofsoapandglory yep, and the fact he is keeping down BMilk is a added bonus. Although how nutritious it is these days is debatable!

Thank you all for responding!
