11wo 'out of sorts' - advice please!

11wo DD has been eating less for the past week or so, I don't really think she is getting enough for her size (about 25oz a day for a 12lb baby). I thought this was an isolated issue but now for the past few days she has been generally 'out of sorts', for lack of a better way to describe it. She's sleeping much more, last night she went from 7.45-4am and then 4.30-9, and after just 3oz at 9 she has gone back to sleep at 10. She is a bit snuffly but nothing too bad, though her eyes are pretty red and she keeps rubbing them, and her temperature is normal. She also isn't very happy being put down on the floor when usually she can happily spend an hour and a half on her mat just kicking around and watching the world go by.

The GP only has the emergency drop-in this evening, no appts today, or I can see the HV at the baby clinic tomorrow. I just have a gut feeling that she isn't very well BUT I don't know if I am overreacting a little as DD (1st DC) was in SCBU for 5 days with a serious infection when she was born. I don't want to waste the DR's time if it is just a minor cold.

Any advice? Should I take her to the GP or wait for the HV tomorrow?

I don't think it is ever a waste of time getting a small baby looked at and I would always choose a GP over an HV. I would follow your instincts and take your baby to the emergency drop in. Is her breathing OK? Have you counted her breaths?

On the other hand, I think that amount of milk is normal for her age. Does she normally take a lot more?

Her breathing is ok, though we did give her saline drops last night to help. And yes, she did drink quite a bit more until recently, now she won't take more than 3 or 4oz at a time when she was draining 6oz bottles at least once a day. Why don't babies come with a manual?! Hmm
