Hi there,
my son is nearly 4.5 years old and has a terrible lisp in German (and a slight one in English). It is getting worse, he now sticks out his tongue for pretty much every vowel. Does any one know a good speech therapist in the Esher area? I work full time, but DS2 is due in May, so I was hoping (probably madly) to get this arranged in my two weeks mat leave before the baby is born. Nursery/pre school had no suggestions. Cheers

I recommend Talking Tots as this has been designed by speech therapists.
The other thing to try is positive reinforcement - ignore it when he lisps, but model the right pronunciation and praise him when he uses it.

This website www.helpwithtalking.com/ should be able to help you locate a private therapist in your area.

thank you for the tips _ i hope a therapist will solve the problem. we use positive reinforcement constantly (otherwise I would be correcting German grammar in every sentence, which I consider pointless), albeit on the lisp front there are no opportunities left to praise. :((. Having said this, without is "mit ohne", after years of gently repeating in the correct way.. maybe one day...
