Ok, so my DD1 is over three and has so far shown no signs of wanting to be potty trained. Each time I have tried, she's had an accident followed by a complete meltdown and so we've stopped. On Monday morning she came to me and announced that she didn't want to wear nappies any more - HURRAH! Ok so fully into potty training mode - first day all accidents, nothing new there. Second day - all accidents. Third day - all accidents. So we're now on the fifth day and she turned around to me after lunch and said, please can I wear nappies again. She will happily sit on the loo when she doesn't need the loo, but if she needs the loo she screams and screams and won't let me put here anywhere near it. Same with her potty. So now what? Does this mean she isn't ready? Or should I just persevere?? Help anyone!!

My DS was also turned three when we started in earnest. He had phases of not wanting to go on potty or toilet if he was struggling to poo (on off problem, in outpatient care).

I think he would have stayed in nappies for much longer had I not pushed it. In the end I bribed him with a radio controlled car from santa if he gave up his nappies! The Santa in House of Fraser played along with it, bless him, when my DS ran up to him to announce that he was wearing pants!
