My ds2 is 19months and his lower legs from knee to his foot are curved, so have a slight bend to the bone. More so on his right side, it affects the way he walks because he walks (on his right side mainly) on the side of his feet.

He learnt to walk normally just after 12 months and was fine, we didn't notice anything until he was around 14- 15 months. But weren't worried because he walked fine, and it just, to us looked like he occasionally walked on the side of his feet. But gradually got worse because now he falls over often when walking or running.

HV said she didn't know what was wrong, so We took him to the doctors who said she wasn't sure but to bring him back in 6 months (this was in January) however in myself and DP opinion he's got worse. The bend in his legs really stand out now, and I'm worried it's getting worse for him.

I took him back to the doctors end of Feb to say I didn't want to wait 6 months to see what would happen, and I thought he'd gotten worse. She said he doesn't look like he has rickets or that it will get any worse, however she said that before and he has got worse. She referred him to hospital for an appointment end of April, which was the soonest he could be seen.

So what I'm asking is what could this be? Could it get any worse? Any experience of this? Any help really.

I've been told all sorts from family and friends along the lines of "he's wearing the wrong shoes", "its the weight of him pushing down" "oh it's rickets" to "they'll have to break his legs to straighten them" which I'm terrified of. So I have no idea and won't find out till the end of next month. So any idea, have you gone through this?
