Heartwarming tales required about first illness post pneumonia being straightforward

DS was in hospital for a week last month with pneumonia. He was very poorly but double dose antibiotics for a week made a massive difference. We saw a GP last week as I was concerned he was still coughing after naps and just not quite 100% though largely ok. I was advised that it would take 6 weeks for him to fully recover, his chest was clear, no temp, just post-pneumonia recovery. She recommended he stay away from anybody with a known illness for a while. Of course 4yo dd is a germ factory as she's in reception and has brought home a cold. She is coughing/sneezing. DS has obviously caught it and is snotty, coughing and grumpy.

I want to believe it's just a virus and relax but he had a virus at half term which he caught from dd and it turned into bronchiolitis and pneumonia. He's only 6 months old and I've lost rational perspective after what he went through recently.

So first bug a couple of weeks post pneumonia. Might he sail through it?

Ds is prone to chest problems having had bronchiolitis, pneumonia and now asthma. Some illnesses he sails though without issue, others hit him like a lead balloon. I am yet to find any way to predict, but would just say if at all worried then go to your gp at first sign of anything more than just virus.

Hope he is ok.
