I took 6 mnth DD to dr yest morn with concerns about her joints etc. Then yest afternoon, when feeding her her lunch I spotted a very angry red sore on the back of the right side of her Tongue. It doesn't appear to br causing her any trouble. She has a bit of a cold last week or so but doubt that's related?! She's only eating purees so can't see how she would of scratched it or anything! Any ideas?! I dont know whether to bother the dr about it. its so tricky to spot, u have to wait for her to stick her tongue right out when spoon fed to even catch a glimpse! Tia xxxx

Could be oral thrush. DD used to get it after a virus. Was always red before it was white.

Just reread that and it sounds like I'm worried about catching it off her. I meant if it was thrush wouldn't i know about it cos wouldn't it affect my breasts?! Thanks xxx

I'm not sure. DD definitely had oral thrush while exclusively bfing and I didn't catch it. She had it twice in fact. Perhaps ask a pharmacist to look for you? They can give you stuff for it too. Saves a gp trip.
