Red rash on face following 10 days of stinking cold - normal?

DD started nursery 3 weeks ago and has been poorly since, first of all it was a tummy bug and diarrhea for a week. Then when she went again she ended up with a stinking cold, conjunctivitis, and a sore throat/cough. We went to the doctors yesterday just so that I could get her checked over for my piece of mind, he confirmed the sore throat etc, but obviously there was nothing he could give her which I expected.

However this morning she has now developed a rash a bit like sunburn on her forehead and cheeks, she has some soreness around her nose and eyes but this is from the snot etc.

Has anyone else had this? I don't want to bother the doctor again for something that is perfectly normal.

Also, does anyone have any tips on what to put on her nose to protect her skin, its so sore she wont let me wipe it very much.

TIA

My dd always gets a red 'sunburn' type rash on her cheeks when she has a cold, I usually put sudocrem on it and it clears up by the time her cold has gone.

Vaseline is good for sore noses or again sudocrem could also be used.

Hope she feels better soon, it's always the way when they start nursery that they have a run of whatever is going round.

Could be slapped cheek, google for pics. Think my DD had this, took a few weeks to disappear

My DS got really bad skin around his eyes and forehead last year when he had a really heavy cold and his nose was constantly streaming. it looked like his skin was burnt and eventually after trying everything else our GP gave us some 1% hydrocortisone.

Good luck, it is a difficult time when they catch all the new bugs they are being exposed to when starting at nursery x
