My DS has to have blood tests because of 2 lumps on his neck accompanied by tiredness/lack of appetite/weight loss. Am trying hard to remain positive but having had 2 close family members suffer from NHL I am also being realistic - anyone out there with any experience of similar symptoms and other outcomes? Thanks

I work with people with NHL/HD and most of the people we see with your son's symptoms will not have it. You can have raised glands for lots of different reasons and the other symptoms you mention are not particularly associated with Lymphoma. You say he has loss of appetite/weight loss - normally in Lymphoma the weight loss would be unexplained (ie not due to eating less) and is often accompanied by drenching night sweats which you don't mention as one of your son's symptoms. Tiredness could be a symptom of different types of infections/virus that he may have/have had.

Obviously I can't diagnose/rule anything out over the Internet but I think there are many more likely causes.

Hope things work out ok and he feels better soon.

I had these symptoms as a teen and it was glandular fever. Not pleasant but much less unpleasant than lymphoma. And much more common.

I had these symptoms as a teen and it was something else (not glandular fever) but cannot remember what it was. Either was, it was harmless. Nonetheless, keeping everything crossed for the all clear your ds.

I have my fingers crossed for you. My dad died of NHL so I know what it's like. I had the symptoms your son has a few years ago and was obviously terrified, but it turns out it was glandular fever. Best wishes to you all.
