Ds3 is almost 4 years old. He has been very off for the last two days.....tired, moany, not eating well. Today I took his temperature and it had spiked a little. At bath time I noticed a quite large area of his groin and upper leg in end side had a rash. He is not in nappies so it is not a nappy rash.

Is there a virus ging round like this? What could it be?

Could just be a virus but I would probably call nhs direct or out if hours doctors just to be sure especially as there's a rash. My dd has had many ' viral rashes ' but always best to make sure as could be symptoms of other things. Hope your ds feels better very soon

He is fast asleep and NHS direct always say to go to out of hours clinic which I am not going to do. I tried googling groin rashes to see if it was anything specific. Not a good idea! Groin rashes tend to be an adult thing!

There has been a nasty virus going round with very high temp loss of appetite and leaving them very pale tired and cranky both my dd had it but there was no rash with it. Is he weeing ok? No pain or anything? Rashes are often just viral but they can be a sign of infection too . Hope he feels better in the morning

Thanks. I guess I will just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.
