DD(7) complained of a sore ankle on the way to school today but said she couldn't remember how she hurt it. She went to school and teacher said she seemed fine today until later in the day she was complaining of pain.

It is swollen and hot and she's limping, they had a sports event yesterday and she ran and did a balancing activity but dd is saying she didn't hurt herself at any point.

I've had her rest it all evening with ice on it and given ibuprofen, I can't take her a&e at the moment as ds and I are suffering from the d&v bug so don't want to be around others.

I don't know what to do, if any bones were broken would it swell up straight away? Any advice very much appreciated :)

Only just seen this, but wondered how your DD is doing now? Did you get her seen?

Thank you for replying :) The ankle seems to be fine now and dd says it's not hurting any more nor is she limping. Maybe she hurt it a little on sports day and the rest probably helped. Now it's ds I am worried about with his bug :(
