6yr old dd may well have glandular fever

My dd1 has been ill on & off since beginning of Jan. Has been diagnosed with tonsillitis twice & hasn;t done a full week school since mid december. Yesterday took her to the docs again & he reckons she may have/had glandular fever, she seems to pick every bug going up but is having the same symptoms of sore throat, headache, feeling sick & stomach ache for weeks now. She also has glands in her neck that are huge. I know it can go on & on but just wondering what to do about school. I have spoke to them today & explained the situation she was poorly y'day but much better today but still off as she had a lie in. She has spelling tests on fridays that she worries about so I would like her to go in for that if she's well. I don;t want her to use illness as an excuse to get out of things she doesn't like. Do I ask if she can do half days or just see how she goes, can't see her doing a full week as she gets exhausted after one busy day. Any advice? Thanks

I think the school may require a medical note from your GP. Has your dd had a blood test to comfirm the diagnosis ?

The gp doesn't want to do a blood test as my dd was freaking out about it. I spoke to the headteacher this morning & they are happy to treat it as if it is glandular fever anyway & I explained that unless she's really poorly I'd be happy to send her in tomorrow so he's going to have a word with her teacher & also say that she's worrying about the spelling test.
