DS coughing but otherwise OK, should I take him to nursery?

DS had a horrible cold last week and was off nursery for most of the week. He improved loads over the weekend. Yesterday and the day before he was as bright as a button in the day. But he's developed an awful cough, hacking at night (as have I).

Last night when he was coughing I though there's no way he should go in, but now he's up he seems absolutely fine, just like yesterday.

WWYD?

DP and I have already had loads of time off and are under pressure not to take more off!

I'm going to take this afternoon off to take him to the Drs about the cough. Would it be OK to take him in this morning. Do you think he's still infectious?

He's sitting here with me and doesn't seem unwell - apart from the occasional cough.

I'd send him. Everyone has lingering chesty coughs round here. They can always call you if they need to send him home.

Thanks for the reply Grockle.

He seemed so poorly at in the night though, I was so convinced he should stay home! He seems like a different boy now!

Agree with grockle -unless he actually seems sick (coloured phlegm , fever, acting poorly) would send him as it sounds like a cold.

I was going to say send him, but if you think he is ill enough to need the gp I would probably wait til he has seen the dr
