Please help my 12 month old hates all medicine . We cannot get it into him we have resorted to having to force him to take it as he has a throat infection and high temp for 2nd time in 3 weeks and really needs it ! Does anyone have any hints & tips to help us ?

I assume you have tried using a syringe instead of a spoon? And lots of praise and clapping (which my DD joins in with herself) after each gulp of medicine is swallowed?

Ds took it with fruit puree.

Dd will take it if we do it a teeny bit at a time from a spoon then let her put a dummy in between each mouthful. She only ever has a dummy at naptime cos I hate them so sees it as a treat.

We used to mix amoxicillin with some banana dessert that my daughter used to like. No idea what the professionals would say to this but it got it into her and the medicine worked!

I syringed it into a fruit puree pouch when ds had to have antibiotics at 12 months.

I have tried syringe he now only has to see it and starts to howl ! Have even tried putting nice things in syringe but he won't entertain it. Have tried mixing it in things but hes really not interested in anything to eat as he's feeling so awful ( he's drinking plenty though!) I will try again today in puree as he's picked up a bit this morning - thanks everyone !

You could try and mix it with some thing fluid. Like some kind of smoothy and get him to sook it up with a straw???? Poor wee soul Sad
