Big painful whiteheads on dd's knee??

A few days ago dd had 1 large and 1 small whitehead on her knee, totally look like proper teenage whitehead spots. The small one disappeared but the large one's whitehead burst and she has since had a large (0.5cm) red lump under the skin. Another little whitehead has come and gone and this evening there's another big one - a red area about the size of a 2p coin and a whitehead in the middle. Definitely a pus type whitehead and not a clear fluid blister - only ever on the one knee. I've been putting antiseptic cream on it but am at a bit of a loss as to what I should do, if anything, and what might be causing them.

Anyone got any ideas? She's 4yrs old.

Could it be molloscum? (have a google) My DD has a few spots at the moment and the doc confirmed it was this. I'd make a GP appt and in the mean time it's good to put antiseptic on it like you're doing. If it is molloscum its painless and nothing to worry about, DD has had 4 spots and now they're going Wink

Thanks for replying, I had looked up molluscum a day or so ago & didn't think it looked like the pictures, it's also painful- not sure if that rules it out or not. Feel like I'm being a bit precious over a few spots, don't like mysteries!
