hernia? does any mum went throu the same with her baby?

i just find that my baby may have (90% sure) hernia, i am taking him to the gp today, i just want to know, in the case of any operation, how long does it take him to be ok, and how long the operation last for? any experience?
i am planning holiday away for 3 months from the 4of march, do i have to do it now or sould i waiti untill i came back? is it very bad? does it get worse?
please any advice?

My brother had one and had an op at around 10 months old, he was in and out the same day. My niece had one too, although she was much older again it was keyhole and she was out the same day. It would depend on the nature of the hernia though.

thank you. do you know how many hours the operation last for please? does they get bettre quike?

Yes. My eldest had an unbilical hernia - is that what you are talking about? - but he didn't need an op. They don't always.

my baby is 6months, the right side under the tommy in the top of his private part is all the time big and when i press it, it doesnt heirt him but i feel like a bubble off water that will goes down than after it will came back.

i just came from the GP, he will write a lettre to the hospital, and refere me to it, hope thy will do whit it quike.

Inguinal hernia from birth, operated on at 3 months, baby boy was better within hours!! The stitches disappeared in no time and now you would never know. The op took less than an hour in theatre and he was held by mum immediately after. Sent hoime next day.

thank you Simatmum bout this example, i hope my baby will be ok is well. really worried, but just a mum feeling. sometime feel like crying when i see his face, its very hard.
